web_01185

We would like to take a moment to thank you for your contributions and interest in the African Touch Education Fund Society. Without your help, the African Touch project in Uganda would not have been the success it was. You donated your time, expertise, prayers, items for silent auctions, web support, teaching materials, teaching location, logistical support, learning tools (charts and skeletons), funding and so much more. This project would not have been possible without all of your support. The African Touch Graduation Class of 2011 also directly send their gratitude and appreciation for all that you have done to help them improve their lives and employment prospects.

Congratulations to the African Touch Massage Class of 2011

Dec 17, 2011

This will be short note, but with very sweet news.  We just wanted to let you know that the Uganda massage class of 2011 have exceeded all expectations!  All 12 students have graduated, thanks to a class initiative to tutor and help those who were struggling.  Student job prospects look good and overall the program was a great success!  We will be composing a newsletter with many more stories and photos in the new year, but wanted to give you this last small update from African soil.  We fly back to Canada on the 22nd of December to spend the holidays with our families.

You can also have a look at our documantary on You Tube by searching "african touch massage".

Our Thanks goes out to all of you once again for your support, which made this all possible.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Newyear!

All the best,     Curt, Sandy and Reace Chambers

Happy Thanksgiving

During the outreach portion of the program they have put this new found skills to the test with some great results for their clients!

blog61Time continues to race by. The days are very full between preparing for classes, writing and marking quizzes and tests, preparing for outreach, dealing with power outages and day to day challenges and as a few of you know already we have puppies! 3 out of the 6 abandoned puppies that Curt rescued have survived, thanks to a lot of bottle feeding and TLC. The dogs now are thriving and playful! Two of them will be leaving to new homes shortly, and we will likely keep one until we leave. These new members of our family have no doubt ensured that there have been no dull moments..... That being said, we are all happy and healthy and continuing to enjoy and make the most of our time here.
